Caorle è un borgo marinaro che conserva e porta avanti le sue antiche tradizioni tramandate di generazione in generazione, tanto che la pesca è ancora oggi, insieme al turismo, l’attività principale a cui si dedicano tanti caorlotti (così ci chiamiamo noi abitanti di Caorle!).
Il Porto Peschereccio merita assolutamente una visita, soprattutto nel pomeriggio per assistere ad un rituale che dura da secoli: i pescatori, ormeggiate le barche, lavano e riparano le reti con lo stesso rituale che si ripete da generazioni!
Dei vari canali che attraversavano Caorle oggi rimane solo il Rio Interno, ovvero il Porto Peschereccio, che con il suo microcosmo marinaro accoglie chi arriva qui dall'entroterra.
Fino al secolo scorso il Porto era affollato di bragozzi, le imbarcazioni da pesca e da carico dell’Alto Adriatico a due alberi con le tipiche vele a trapezio (dette vele al terzo). Oggi di tanto in tanto, soprattutto in estate, capita di ammirarli ancora ormeggiati alle banchine, alle quali sono attraccati i motopescherecci della marineria di Caorle.
