Passeggiare nei luoghi tanto amati da Ernest Hemingway? A Caorle è possibile! Lo scrittore americano, nato a Oak Park nell'Illinois il 21 luglio 1899 e Nobel per la letteratura nel 1954, innamorato dell’Italia e del Veneto in particolare, amava trascorrere le sue giornate a San Gaetano, un piccolo villaggio della laguna di Caorle.
Qui arrivò per la prima volta nell'inverno del 1948, ospite del Barone Raimondo Nanuk Franchetti, al quale era legato dalla passione per la caccia e da una profonda amicizia. Alla laguna di Caorle Hemingway dedicò alcune delle sue pagine più belle del libro “Di là dal fiume e tra gli alberi”, pubblicato nel 1950, in cui si racconta, tra l’altro, dell’amore del protagonista per Renata, una nobile ventenne veneziana.
